Gary, did you go straight to netfirms.com and expect to get the discount?

You are suppose to click on the special link above, not go directly to Netfirms - this is a special unadvertised promotion. I got 17 domains with them and saved like $50 in total. A great savings. Now I just need a good hosting which allows multiple domains at a reasonable price. Any suggestions?

How about a registar who doesn't "auction" your domain name to third parties in foreign countries BEFORE its expired so they can hold it for ransom? You know the one {hint: NS} that simultaneously keeps you thinking your domain name has not expired by keeping it in your account manager with an expiration date a year into the future but when your website goes offline suddenly and you call they tell you the account number next to the expiration date is different! Any registars where you actually OWN your domain names and not just rent???

Don't cancel. Just transfer to a different registrar that offers WHOIS protection for .COMs like Netfirms or Godaddy (need to register at least 5 domains with if you want free whois protection with Godaddy).

I registered 2 domains with 1&1 - one .co.uk and one .com
I was told that I can only have WHOIS protection with the .co.uk address and not the .com one. Does anyone know any way I can protect the .com one now I have registered this address? Or should I cancel it and re-register it with another domain registar?

Daryl, sounds like you need a paid hosting service (because you do not want popups). You can try these domain web hosting services they recommend here.

You should be able to build websites from one of these services and also FTP comes with each hosting package.

I'm looking for a domain set-up with unlimited email box that I can also set up a ftp site and a website. I also don't want to have any pop-ups attached to my website. Which domain would be best. I'm a designer and often have to transfer files over 100mb.
